Matthew Liepke

Matthew Liepke
Port City Family Medicine

Matthew Liepke is a physician at Port City Family Medicine in Oswego. He is a member of the Oswego Hospital active medical staff.

Liepke, 34, serves as a chairman of Oswego Hospital’s Internal Medicine Department. He is also a member of the American Medical Association, American Association of Pediatrics Fellow, the American Board of Internal Medicine and the Medical Society of the State of New York.

Liepke is a major in the U.S. Army National Guard. During 2007, he was stationed at Camp Scania, Iraq where he was with the 466th Area Support Medical Company 53rd Troop. He has been a member of the reserves 15 years.

Prior to his work in Oswego, Liepke worked at the Miami Valley Hospital, Ohio’s busiest emergency department. He serves as a clinical assistant professor at SUNY Upstate Medical University. Here Liepke provides teaching to medical students in office during medicine clerkship. Liepke received a bachelor’s in chemistry and industrial hygiene from Clarkson University and a medical degree from Upstate Medical University in Syracuse. He considers his most significant accomplishments to be the maintenance of a “profitable, patient-friendly medical practice in a rural and underserved area,” Liepke said. What drives him to excel as a physician is his “love for the patients,” he said. (AC)
