Christina Chamberlain

Christina Chamberlain
Oswego City School District

Christina Chamberlain is a registered school nurse in the Oswego City School District. She received her bachelor’s degree at Roberts Wesleyan College and received an undergraduate degree at the Crouse Irving School of Nursing.

Prior to her work in the Oswego City School District, Chamberlain, 39, worked as a public health nurse for the Oswego County Health Department. She is the vice president of the Civil Service Employees Union, local 8020. Also, Chamberlain assists in the fundraising for Trinity Catholic and is a Pre-K church teacher at St. Mary’s Church. Most of Chamberlain’s time goes to the rigors of being a school nurse.

“I feel like I mentor the students on a daily basis,” Chamberlain said. “In a way I am the nurse, the teacher, the mother, the optician and the seamstress.” “I wear many hats at work,” she added.

What drives her to excel as a school nurse is the close proximity to student’s lives and being able to impact those lives positively. “I hope that I can make a difference in a students life,” she said. “It may be something small like helping a student get glasses or it might be something big like helping a student get through the death of a parent.” (AC)
