Chena Tucker
Assistant Project Manager-OTDA Consulting Projects, SUNY Oswego Office of Business & Community Relations

Chena Tucker is the assistant project manager for New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance consulting projects at the SUNY Oswego Office of Business and Community Relations.

Tucker, 37, earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Maryhurst University and holds a certificate in business administration.

She said her most significant professional achievement is being part of the team that spearheaded the Oswego County Community Incubator, also known as “Thrive.”

“I believe in myself and know that I can make a difference,” she said.

Tucker, a business adviser for the Small Business Development Center at SUNY Oswego in 2012, developed an outreach e-commerce incubator office in Fulton.

In order to increase her office’s exposure and outreach, she developed a dynamic marketing plan that has included the SBDC e-zine, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn pages as well as digital invitations and registrations for its events.

She is a board member for Harbor Festivals, Inc.; chairwoman of the Harborfest Children’s Committee; volunteer for the Safe Haven Museum, a current member of Leadership Oswego County’s Class of 2013, and a member of the Recognizing Oswego County program.

As chairwoman of the children’s committee for Harborfest, she is responsible for coordinating all of the events at the park during the festival. This includes the gala, parade, musical, food vendors, workshops, sponsorship and volunteers.

Tucker said a significant personal achievement was climbing several mountains in Oregon and California, the highest of which was Mount Whitney at 14,497 feet.
