Holly DeMar
Employment Manager, Oswego Hospital

Holly DeMar is the employment manager at Oswego Hospital.

DeMar, 36, earned her Bachelor of Science degree in business administration at SUNY IT at Utica Rome. She also has an associate’s degree in business administration from Cayuga Community College, Fulton.

Prior to working at Oswego Hospital, DeMar held various positions while employed by Penn Traffic Co. of Syracuse.

“Throughout my career, I have been allowed the opportunity to mentor recent college graduates that were just entering the workforce, specifically in the human resource domain,” she said. “I have found this to be a very rewarding and gratifying experience on many levels. I have always managed to learn something from each of these experiences.”

“I strive to provide a warm and welcoming but professional atmosphere and work environment,” she said. “Human resources plays a crucial function in the success of an organization. HR is the first interaction for a new employee and it is necessary to make that new employee feel welcome and comfortable.”

DeMar is secretary for Friends of Oswego County Hospice; a current Leadership Oswego County 2013 class member; volunteers at United Way of Oswego County events; and is an active participant in the Oswego YMCA’s Dragonboat race, an annual fundraiser for its children’s programs.

“I am currently working on our Leadership Oswego County class project titled, ‘Supporting our Seniors.’ This project is designed to show senior citizens in our community how much they are admired and appreciated by providing them with items that might prove useful in their everyday lives,” she said.

Within the last year, DeMar has trained for and completed her first triathlon.
