Lisa Emmons

Lisa Emmons
Owner/Manager, Mother Earth Baby LLC, Oswego

Lisa Emmons is the owner and manager of Mother Earth Baby LLC in Oswego. Emmons, 38, holds a master's degree in social work from Syracuse University. She also earned Bachelor of Science degrees in psychology and dance from SUNY Potsdam. Prior to opening her own business, Emmons was program manager of the home and community-based services waiver, Hillside Children's Center.

She considers her most significant professional accomplishment as opening her own business in 2009 as an online, Web-based business and having it grow into a highly visible storefront in Oswego.

"Being married 13 years and having four beautiful children are my most significant personal accomplishments. I have a very supportive family that has allowed me to take a risk and open my own business," she said.

Throughout her career, Emmons has been an advocate for and passionate about children, their health and their success.

Emmons has been successful in establishing the first cloth diaper delivery service in a four-county radius in at least 20 years. She also developed and coordinated the inaugural Healthy Baby Expo in the city of Oswego this past spring. The Great Cloth Diaper Change was featured at the event where 50 mom and baby pairs participated in the Guinness World Records record-breaking attempt.

Emmons is president of the Oswego County Breastfeeding Coalition and a founding member and trustee of the Children's Museum of Oswego.

Currently, Emmons is working on being credentialed as a La Leche League leader and a Real Diaper Circle leader.
